- My review on the latest installment to Tony Stark!
I was asked recently who my favourite was that was in Avengers Assemble. Despite all my other nerdy traits, I have never once read a comic book from any of the super hero universes, so I'm going purely from what I've seen in the movies. Ironman is by far the coolest. He has the most personality and is one of the closest things to Batman of the Marvel world.
All this being said, I have never actually watched until the end of Ironman 2.
I got as far as the gardener in orange being in a lab after a bout with Ironman on a racetrack, so maybe this won't be the most accurate review, but I'll do my best. Maybe the reason was it was just too slow. Avengers was action from the start and I always had the idea that I was watching something that meant something. In Ironman 2, I felt there was just too much stuff I couldn't care less about.
But the failings of Ironman 2 aren't what this is about! I went into the cinema to watch this on its midnight launch, armed with the renewed enthusiasm I had for the genius, playboy philanthropist.
I did honestly really enjoy it. The beginning didn't linger too much on the events that lead up to the story in this one and while some knowledge of the characters was expected from watching Avengers and Ironman 2, I didn't feel like there were too many gaps of knowledge.
Spoilers!
I didn't like the way that Guy Pearce died. I feel like Pepper should have done what they do in Twilight where they tear the limbs off!
But I did enjoy the movie, the ending felt funny. Not sure if I liked it, but will probably be watching it again on Friday so I'll be able to give a better review!
